Dickinson - Four popular family movies are scheduled outdoors this summer and early fall at the Dickinson State University Henry Biesiot Activities Center (BAC).

The BAC’s Outdoor Family Movie Nights will feature the PG and PG-13 -rated films “Transformers” on Aug. 7, “Free Birds” on Aug. 12, “Draft Day” on Aug. 28 and the series final on Sept. 28. Each of the movies is featured on the Hawk Vision Video Board. The first three movies start at 7:30 p.m. and the final at 6 p.m. (MST) on Fisher Field at 398 State Ave., Dickinson.

“The mission of our annual Outdoor Family Movie Nights is to provide good and meaningful entertainment to the Dickinson community while allowing families and friends to spend quality time together,” said Ben Shroyer, events and conference coordinator for the BAC.

Attendees may bring blankets and sit on Fisher Field or use the bleachers to watch each of the films. Concessions are available. No outside food or drinks are allowed in the facility. Adults need to accompany any child 12 and under.

Following are more details on each of the movies:

  • “Transformers” (2007, rated PG-13) on August 7, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Movie starts at 7:30 p.m. The movie night is sponsored by The Dickinson Press. Free Admission.
  • “Free Birds” (rated PG) on August 12, with doors opening at 7 p.m. Movie starts at 7:30 p.m. The movie night is sponsored by the BAC. Admission is $10 per family.
  • “Draft Day” (rated PG-13) on August 28, with doors opening at 5 p.m. in conjunction with the Dickinson Community Fall Kick-Off. The movie starts at 8 p.m. This free movie is sponsored by the DSU Campus Activities Board.
  • "Maleficent" (rated PG-13) is on September 28, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Movie starts at 6 p.m. This movie is sponsored by the DSU Homecoming Committee and held in conjunction with a Chili Cook Off, car show and powder puff football game starting at 2 p.m. The committee will announce a ticket price for the movie only in September.
