Online Course Exams
Dickinson-area students will be proctored by the Technology Resource & Education Center (TREC) in May Hall, room 318.
Students not in the Dickinson area will be responsible for finding an appropriate center or individual to proctor the exam.
- Approved proctors include:
- Educational Testing Center
- High School Counselor
- Elementary or High School Teacher
- Educational Administrator
- Proctors may not be family members.
- Exams may not be completed in private homes.
Students must read and agree to the DSU proctor policies on this page prior to submitting a Student Proctor Form. The Student Proctor Form must be completed at least two weeks prior to taking an exam. Once this form has been submitted, TREC will contact a proctor to confirm their agreement to proctor the exam.
A Student Proctor Form must be completed and turned in for each class a student is enrolled in.
Students are responsible for contacting their respective testing center to schedule a time to take their exam. If the designated proctor is unable to proctor the exam, the student must submit another Student Proctor Form.
Students will be responsible for paying any proctor fee to the individual or center they use.
Students must bring a valid photo ID to their respective testing center at the time of their exam.
Certain courses at Dickinson State are part of a pilot program called ProctorU which allows students to proctor their exams at home. The Student Proctor Form states for which courses this option is available. This option is a paid service covered by the student, not by Dickinson State. With this option, it is the student's responsibility to contact their proctor to schedule a day and time to complete an exam.

Any charges applicable to the examinee must be paid with a credit or debit card. The examinee will be required to enter payment information into a secure page connected to a third-party card processor. The page is encrypted and secure, and ProctorU does not see or store the credit card data. Examinees will have to re-enter payment information each time new charges are incurred.
