Dining Services
Charlie Dorsa, the newest manager of Dickinson State University’s dining services department, eagerly joins us from Texas, where he was born and raised. He comes to us with 21 years of experience in the restaurant industry, and education he received at Del Mar Culinary in Corpus Christi. He is excited to share the changes that have been made and will continue to be made to better the dining and catering experiences here at DSU. Some changes include; self service at the hot food stations to help food choices and portions to be more individualized, change in food station locations to help service flow in the cafeteria, the meal exchange program, breakfast now being served through the Snack Bar and the long awaited addition-credit card usage in the Snack Bar and Dining Hall (beginning of September). This is hopefully just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to improvements. He has an open door when it comes to suggestions, comments and compliments!!
As a true Texan, his first passion was bull riding, followed by a great interest in cars and the outdoors. Being the thrill seeker that he is, he also loves amusement and water parks….bring on a good rollercoaster and he is there!
Charlie brought with him, from Texas to North Dakota, his beautiful wife Chelsea, 2 sons, Robert (age 14) and Dakota (age 12)… and you can’t forget his 2 dogs, Puppy and Little Pup.
