Finding a class
Type in the Keyword box to search course code, title, topic, instructor, building or room at once. A number is treated as a course, section or class number, so 201 finds courses numbered 201 rather than classes meeting in room 201 — try ENGL 201, sec 2 or #1043. Use the filters on the left to narrow by term, location, session length, meeting days, time of day, class length, credits or instructor.
Filters that open a panel
Subject, Building, Room, Start time, Class length, Credits and Instructor each open a panel of checkboxes beside the rail, so you can pick as many as you like rather than one at a time. Within one of these, your picks widen the results — ticking BIOL and CHEM returns both. Across different filters they narrow, so BIOL plus the 9:30 start time returns only the BIOL sections at 9:30.
The long lists (rooms, instructors, start times) have a box at the top that filters the list as you type. The button shows what you have picked while the panel is shut, and Esc or Done closes it.
Time of day vs. Start time
Time of day is the quick way to say “mornings” — broad bands judged on when a section starts. Start time lists the actual clock times sections begin at, so you can ask for the 9:30 slot specifically. They stack: tick both and you get the 9:30 sections, which are also mornings.
Why is an option greyed out or missing?
Filters narrow each other. If ticking a box would leave zero results, it is disabled (or hidden) so you don’t hit a dead end. Untick something else to bring it back.
Active filters
Every filter you apply shows up as a small chip above the results, each with its own × so you can remove just that one. “Clear all filters” removes every filter at once.
Week view
Each section is drawn as one block from its start time to its end time, so a class from
8:30 to 11:20 fills that whole stretch of the day. Sections that meet at the same time sit side by side, and a
busy day gets a wider column rather than squeezing the blocks. The grid scrolls in its own box with the days
and hours pinned. Select any block for full details and to add it to My schedule.
Only one semester is drawn at a time, since a week that mixed Fall and Spring would show a timetable nobody has.
When more than one semester matches your filters, a Semester shown box appears above the grid.
Saturday and Sunday columns appear when a class meets then; sections with no set time are listed underneath.
Full screen, colors and printing
Open full screen (Week view or My schedule) gives the calendar the whole window, with
Display settings for color by subject, hour height, the start and end of the day, weekend days
and what each block shows. Every subject gets its own color automatically; pick a swatch to change it. Text
on every block switches between black and white on its own so it always meets WCAG 2.1 AA contrast.
Print preview shows the real pages. Choose paper size and orientation, make the content larger
or smaller, or use Fit to fewer pages. What you set up on screen is what prints.
Leave with Close full screen, Esc or your browser’s Back button; nothing is lost.
Your color and layout choices are remembered on this device.
Planning around your week
In My schedule, add busy times such as work or practice. They appear as hatched blocks
on the calendar and are checked for clashes. Tick Fits my schedule and busy times under Show only to hide
every section that would clash with what you already have.
Select any block, or use Other sections in My schedule, to see every other section of that course and
whether it fits. Swap in replaces the one you have. Add to my calendar (.ics) downloads your
semester for Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar.
Instructor and room weeks
Instructor / room shows the whole week for one instructor or one room, whatever filters are set.
It adds up class time, lists sections that meet together, flags genuine double bookings, and for a room shows how
much of the weekday it is used and when it is open. In any section's details, the instructor and room names jump
straight to their week. It prints and opens full screen like the other calendars.
Printing
Print / Save as PDF always opens a preview first. In Cards view you can print the results as cards
(one to three across) or as a compact table.
Sharing a search
Every filter, the sort order and the page live in the web address, so Copy link gives you a link that reopens this exact view, including your schedule, busy times and any colors you chose. Download results (CSV) saves exactly what is currently showing.
Meets on vs. other filters
Meets on requires all the days you check (M and W returns MW and MWF, not Monday-only). Everything else — location, session, time of day, term, and all seven panel filters — is “any of”, so checking more than one option widens your results.
Keyboard use
Every control is reachable with Tab. Tooltips (the circled ? buttons) open on focus or hover and close with Esc. This dialog also closes with Esc.
