Audrey Charchenko began teaching nursing at Dickinson State University (DSU) in fall, 2006. Prior to this time, Audrey was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital since 1998, working as a nurse on the Medical Surgical Unit, Intensive Care, Clinical Coordinator, Emergency Department and most recently continues to be employed at the hospital in Day Surgery/Recovery Unit. 

Awards received include DSU’s Innovative Teacher of the Year 2011-2012 and in 2016-2017, she was nominated for the DSU NSAND Nurse Educator of the Year.  She currently teaches Health Assessment, Health Assessment Clinical (face to face and online), Advanced Concepts (face to face and online) and Acute Care Clinicals in the BSN program for junior nursing students and Acute Care Simulation for senior BSN students.  Her roles within the Department of Nursing include: BSN Coordinator, Evaluation Chair, Faculty Committee, ADRN to BSN and BSN Committee, and Scholarship Committee. DSU wide committees include Promotion and Tenure. 

Audrey continues to enhance her degree and is currently enrolled at the University of Mary in the Doctorate of Nurse Practice: Leadership and Management program. She has maintained her certification in Acute Coronary Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nursing, and CPR.
