Festival Information

Dickinson State University's music program will host the 60th Annual Northern Plains Music Festival on November 10th and 11th, 2017. This festival features auditioned musicians from more than 25 different high schools in North Dakota, Montana, and South Dakota. The Northern Plains Music Festival consists of four different musical groups: Mixed Honor Choir, Women's Honor Choir, Honor Band, and Percussion Ensemble.

The festival will feature two performances: a DSU Showcase Concert on Friday, Nov. 10th at 1 pm in Dorothy Stickney Auditorium in May Hall (free and open to the public), and a Grand Concert on Saturday, Nov. 11th at 4 pm, also in Dorothy Stickney Auditorium. The Grand Concert is the final performance and includes performances by all the honor ensembles. Admission for this concert is $5 for adults (students and children are no charge), with all proceeds helping to fund the continuation of this festival.

In addition to rehearsals, high school music directors will be able to attend several workshops for continuing education credit.
