Athletic Scholarships

Athletic scholarships are awarded to student athletes on a case by case basis. To be considered for an athletic scholarship, fill out a recruitment form for each individual sport at www.dsubluehawks.com.

Bakken U Scholarships

The purpose of Bakken U at DSU is to increase access through decreasing barriers to educational opportunities for individuals, and their dependents, employed in the energy industry in North Dakota.

DSU Heritage Foundation Scholarships

The DSU Heritage Foundation is investing in future generation by awarding scholarships. The foundation supports the university by acknowledging and rewarding academic and extracurricular excellence as well as supporting scholarly and creative activities.

Fine and Performing Arts Awards

Available for students who decide to major in Fine and Performing Arts. The recipient of this award is expected to assist in recruitment and promotion of the Performing and Fine Arts Department. To be eligible you must be accepted to DSU, be enrolled full time (12 hours per semester), maintain good academic standing, and remain in good financial standing to renew this award. 

New Students
New students are to complete the DSU Heritage Foundation scholarship application. Download the How to Apply New Students sheet and submit to the F&P Art Department Chair.

Returning Students
Returning students are to complete the DSU Heritage Foundation scholarship application and talk with their faculty Adviser.

International Students
International students are encouraged to complete the International Programs Questionnaire as well as the DSU Heritage Foundation scholarship application for the Awards Committee.

Merit based scholarships

These scholarships will be awarded based on a review of student’s previous academic performance. Students automatically qualify if they are conditionally accepted or accepted to Dickinson State University as well as meet the individual scholarship requirements. These cannot be combined with the Theodore Roosevelt honors Leadership Program Scholarship or other merit scholarships. Eligibility is based on official final transcripts.

Staff Senate Scholarship

The Dickinson State University Staff Senate Scholarship was founded in 2007 and is intended to help a student who is a spouse or dependent of a DSU staff member pay for books, mandatory fees, or any self-supporting programs while pursuing an education at DSU. This scholarship will be in addition to the DSU Employee Spouse and Dependent Tuition Waiver Request which covers only tuition.

Theodore Roosevelt Leadership Program Scholarship

Dickinson State University's Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program is a student-driven program which allows participants to maximize opportunities being learned in the classroom while instilling participative decision making and collaborative problem solving techniques with intellectual rigor and character development.
