  B.S. Environmental Health  

Students In The Lab

This major is designed to prepare students to work in the Environmental Health area of Public Health where they will work to prevent disease and injury to people.  Students will have a board base of understanding of biology, chemistry and physics and specialized training in toxicology, microbiology, epidemiology, radiation health, soils, and geology.  Students who complete this degree will be able to expect employment in city, county or regional public health units, state health departments, federal agencies such as the FDA, EPA or CDC, and many private companies.  Students can find employment in specialized areas of environmental health such as Food Protection, Waste Management, Occupational Health and Safety,  Air or Water Quality,  Disease Prevention,  Recreational Environmental Health and All-hazard Preparedness.

This environmental health major has the same science requirements as the B.S. Environmental Health, with the additional requirement of 16 credits of foreign language study.
