Science Club

Science Club

The DSU Science Club is open to anyone actively enrolled at Dickinson State University and who has an interest in science. Their goals are to promote and generate interest in the many aspects of science, to establish a campus identity, and to broaden the members’ experiences and knowledge of science through meetings and activities.

Recent Activities:

  • Participation in the “Big Event,” a community service day at Dickinson State University
  • Volunteering at an astronomy day in the local mall  
  • Telescope training sessions to learn how to use DSU's computerized telescope 
  • Student trip to Black Hills and Colorado 
  • Building experiments to launch up to 100,000 feet in the atmosphere aboard a weather ballon
  • Coordination of the testing phase of a NASA funded grant to design a planetary space suit
