ACCOUNTING 210 – ACCOUNTING COMMUNITY AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Department of Business and Management
Dickinson State University
2014-2015 Academic Year

People are coming from every region of the country – many hit hard by the Great Recession – to North Dakota for a second start on life. With the surge of activity related to the booming energy industry, North Dakota has the lowest unemployment of any state in the country. There are more than 20,000 open positions across the state!

In southwestern North Dakota, this huge employment surge is creating unparalleled opportunities for entrepreneurs … in virtually every area you could imagine! From childcare to dry cleaning and from shuttle service to accounting, there are numerous business ventures awaiting you. In childcare alone, experts estimate 21,000 more children will move into the area by 2025. This explosive growth will require more than 1,000 new daycare centers and a workforce estimated at nearly 4,000 people.
