Finding a class
Type in the Keyword box to search course code, title, topic, instructor, building or room at once. A number is treated as a course, section or class number, so 201 finds courses numbered 201 rather than classes meeting in room 201 — try ENGL 201, sec 2 or #1043. Use the filters on the left to narrow by term, location, session length, meeting days, time of day, class length, credits or instructor.
Filters that open a panel
Subject, Building, Room, Start time, Class length, Credits and Instructor each open a panel of checkboxes beside the rail, so you can pick as many as you like rather than one at a time. Within one of these, your picks widen the results — ticking BIOL and CHEM returns both. Across different filters they narrow, so BIOL plus the 9:30 start time returns only the BIOL sections at 9:30.
The long lists (rooms, instructors, start times) have a box at the top that filters the list as you type. The button shows what you have picked while the panel is shut, and Esc or Done closes it.
Time of day vs. Start time
Time of day is the quick way to say “mornings” — broad bands judged on when a section starts. Start time lists the actual clock times sections begin at, so you can ask for the 9:30 slot specifically. They stack: tick both and you get the 9:30 sections, which are also mornings.
Why is an option greyed out or missing?
Filters narrow each other. If ticking a box would leave zero results, it is disabled (or hidden) so you don’t hit a dead end. Untick something else to bring it back.
Active filters
Every filter you apply shows up as a small chip above the results, each with its own × so you can remove just that one. “Clear all filters” removes every filter at once.
Week view
The grid has one row per hour and one column per weekday. A section sits in the row for the hour it starts in and prints its full meeting time, so several sections in the same hour stack down the day rather than squeezing side by side. Rows alternate white and grey to help you follow one hour across all five days.
Only one semester is drawn at a time, since a week that mixed Fall and Spring would show a timetable nobody has. When more than one semester matches your filters, a Semester shown box appears above the grid. Saturday, Sunday and no-set-time sections are listed underneath it.
Sharing a search
Every filter, the sort order and the page live in the web address, so Copy link gives you a link that reopens this exact view. Download results (CSV) saves exactly what is currently showing.
Meets on vs. other filters
Meets on requires all the days you check (M and W returns MW and MWF, not Monday-only). Everything else — location, session, time of day, term, and all seven panel filters — is “any of”, so checking more than one option widens your results.
Keyboard use
Every control is reachable with Tab. Tooltips (the circled ? buttons) open on focus or hover and close with Esc. This dialog also closes with Esc.
