Additional Information

Dr. Robinson’s research is transnational in nature, concerned with pressing human rights issues and representational strategies that utilize child protagonists to revisit or address periods of extreme violence. She mainly focuses on contemporary Latin American film, literature, and drawings, particularly instances of children’s experiences with “recycled violence” or a persistent violence that is redeployed in new times and places. Her research and teaching have touched on the Spanish Civil War, the Holocaust and World War II, Vichy France, Argentina’s genocide of the indigenous peoples and its 1976-1983 military dictatorship. She has also researched and presented on Ladino studies and border studies topics.
