Equine Programming
Dickinson State University, in conjunction with the Global Equine Academy, proudly offers a fully accredited online program focusing on equine – the first fully online Associate in Science degree program with an Equine Option in the nation!

- Associate in Science in Agricultural Sales and Service
There are three main parts to the associate degree program:

- General Education curriculum (40-42 credits, which includes one credit for UNIV 100 – Freshman Seminar, an institutional academic requirement)
- Agricultural Sales and Service core curriculum (9 credits)
- Equine Management or Equine Training Option curriculum (20 credits). Course lectures are delivered via the internet and video.

- No horse or riding required – students learn the theory behind training horses in Equine Training Theory classes.
- Equine Training Option
- Requires a horse and riding – students video themselves performing the tasks learned in the Equine Training Techniques classes and are graded based on their proficiency in performing the techniques.

Pair this minor with a bachelor’s degree program – typically, online students pursue a Bachelor of University Studies or Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and add the Equine Minor to their chosen program of study. - Horse Production Certificate

DSU arenas
DSU arenas are primarily used for the DSU Men's and Women's Rodeo Teams who are competitive regionally and use the arenas to practice so they can be competitive on the national level, too. The arenas are available for public use on a limited basis.
Any individual desiring to use the DSU Indoor or Outdoor Arenas MUST complete an informational form and a waiver of liability form before being allowed to use the facilities.
Per North Dakota Law, any rider in the indoor or outdoor arenas must be given the following two documents:

North Dakota Century Code Chapter 53-10 - Equine Activity Sponsor or Professional
All riders must complete the following documents before being allowed to ride in the indoor or outdoor arenas. These documents are kept on file with the DSU Department of Agriculture and Technical Studies.

The fees for using the DSU Indoor or Outdoor Arenas are $5.00/day/horse. The fees must be paid to the DSU Department of Agriculture and Technical Studies office prior to riding. The DSU Department of Agriculture and Technical Studies is located adjacent to the DSU Indoor Arena. The address is 400 State Ave. in Dickinson.
Open Public Riding is Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7-10 a.m. Please call 701-483-2185 to ensure arena is open and available for use as schedule is subject to change due to holidays or scheduled events.
