Spring

These are DSU application and documentation deadlines. Visa interview and processing times vary. Please check travel.state.gov for interview availability and wait times.

DSU has two start dates for international students:

  • Fall starts on or about August 21st
  • Spring starts on or about January 8th.

Plan to arrive a week prior to your start to give yourself time to adjust and prepare to start school. We have several days of fun activities before school starts in the Fall to help get you ready and active on campus!

Most applications take about a month to process from submitting the application to an I-20 being issued.  This can be faster or slower depending on documentation availability and submission time.

An I-20 and F1 visa will allow you to enter the US up to 30 days prior to the start of school as listed on your I-20.  The visa process takes time. Please check with your local US consulate for details on appointments and visa processing.

When you feel comfortable that you have time to get through the application and visa process, choose your start date apply in Step 3.

    • You can share your results with DSU on your Pearson Test of English dashboard or send the link for your score to dsu.hawk@dickinsonstate.edu.

Please contact dsu.internationalprograms@dickinsonstate.edu prior to submitting any scores not detailed above.  Select other scores may be accepted. DSU reserves the right to request additional verification.

All students who have attended secondary school outside of the United States must submit official academic credentials. This includes leaving exam scores and high school academic transcript reports. Official transcripts must be sent directly from either the school or an approved evaluating agency.

If requested, international high school credentials must be evaluated by one of the evaluation services listed below. There is a fee for the evaluation. You are responsible for getting the evaluation and paying the fee. You must request a course-by-course evaluation and for it to be sent to Dickinson State University. Scanned copies can be emailed if they are sent from an email account that can be verified to be linked to the school or evaluator. Physical copies can be mailed to:
