In 2005, Ms. Lucy Meyer began her teaching career as a clinical adjunct faculty member
at Dickinson State University (DSU). From fall 2006 to 2016, Ms. Meyer served as an
Assistant Professor of Nursing at Dickinson State University. Ms. Meyer began teaching
fundamentals of nursing and psychiatric mental health in the Associate of Applied
Science in Practical Nursing (AASPN) Program. Since 2010, Ms. Meyer has been teaching
community health in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program. Ms. Meyer continues
to teach psychiatric mental health nursing in the AASPN Program. Beginning in the
fall of 2017, Ms. Meyer will serve as an Associate Professor of Nursing at DSU. Ms.
Meyer is also a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE), and continues to maintain
her certification.
As a graduate student at the University of North Dakota, Ms. Meyer was inducted into
the Sigma Theta Tau International Chapter, and maintains her membership. She has since
presented her international experience at a Sigma Theta Tau Induction Ceremony.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Ms. Meyer has assisted with planning,
coordinating and leading several service learning experiences to Guatemala with interprofessional
faculty and students. She has a passion for volunteering and service and believes
in sharing this experience with students and others.
