All students who have satisfied graduation requirements during the spring semester, the previous fall semester, or the coming summer semester are eligible to participate in spring commencement.

Students Eligible for Spring 2020 Commencement

If you are graduating following spring or summer 2020 semesters or completed your degree in fall 2019 but did not participate in the fall 2019 commencement ceremony, we request your participation in the spring 2020 virtual commencement ceremony. This ceremony is being designed to commemorate the accomplishments of our graduating class who have faced the challenge of finishing degrees remotely amid a global pandemic.

In addition to the virtual ceremony, you are also invited to attend either the fall 2020 or spring 2021 commencement ceremony on campus. Details on how to indicate your intent to participate in one of the upcoming face-to-face ceremonies will be forthcoming.

To honor our graduates this spring, a virtual presentation will be created featuring a personal slide of each graduate. A personal slide with your photograph, in regalia if you have already purchased, or in appropriate street clothing, will be created for you. Due to COVID-19, regalia can no longer be purchased. Graduates receiving honors, bachelor's and associate degree students with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, will be receiving an honor cord/honor tassel in the mail within two weeks. You may wear with your regalia for your personal slide if you so choose.

The personalized slide will contain your photograph, written name, and an audio announcement of your name, read by the Director of Academic Records. Graduates will be presented by degree during the virtual commencement ceremony on May 16, at 10 a.m. A link to the broadcast will be available on the DSU website a few days prior to the event.

Please complete the commencement participation form below.  We strongly encourage you to upload your photo and include both a recording of your name and phonetic spelling so that your name is pronounced correctly on commencement day. The deadline to submit the participation form is Sunday, April 26.

An electronic commencement program will be created and available for graduates and guests watching the broadcast on commencement day at www.dickinsonstate.edu/commencement. A hard-copy program will be sent to you along with your diploma and diploma cover after degrees are conferred, in early June 2020.

Congratulations graduates! We look forward to your participation as we celebrate your achievements!
