Dr. Talha Naqash is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at
Dickinson State University (DSU), he holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Education from Utah
State University, where his research focused on formative assessment, cognitive engagement,
and problem-solving among undergraduate engineering students. Prior to joining DSU,
he served as a faculty member and Deputy Head of the Department of Computer Science
& Engineering at Bahria University, Islamabad, where he taught extensively across
networking, security, and software engineering, and supervised numerous student capstone
projects in intrusion detection, cryptography, and applied machine learning.
His research spans two complementary areas: cybersecurity and networked systems (intrusion
detection, encryption, software-defined networking) and engineering education (cognitive
engagement, formative assessment, and AI-based learning tools). He is currently contributing
to curriculum design and ABET accreditation efforts for DSU's new B.S. in Cybersecurity
and Artificial Intelligence.
