Dr. Michael Cullinane – Theodore Roosevelt Center
It has been a busy summer for Dr. Michael Cullinane, senior historian for the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library and professor of history at DSU. His recent speaking engagements, presentations, and media appearances include the following:
- Invited speaker at the Spectacle Club in Milwaukee, Wis.
- Conference presentation at the Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era in Chicago, Ill.
- Led a four-day tour of Roosevelt-related spots in New Orleans, La.
- Appeared in media: Serve to Lead podcast, CSPAN Bookshelf+, Sports Byline USA (BekTV), Washington Post articles on boxing and a banner controversy, Books and Looks podcast, Forbes, Brattleboro Book Festival Cocktail Hour, The Art of Adventure podcast, WFLD FOX Chicago
- Led benefactor tours at the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library opening
- Invited speaker at U.S. Embassy in Kampala event on TR Trail
Josh Nichols – Office of Marketing & Communications
Josh Nichols, Director of Digital Process Improvement with DSU’s Office of Marketing & Communications, was recently featured on an episode of Western Edge Living. In this engaging conversation, Nichols shared his passion for the arts, the importance of supporting creativity in western North Dakota, and how cultural opportunities enrich the lives of people of all ages. Lauren Roemmich – School of Education
Lauren Roemmich, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, co-presented a session on ethics at the West River Conference of Social Welfare in Dickinson in June. The conference is a two-day regional event that brings together professionals in rural social work and related helping professions for education, professional development, and networking.

- Marisa Riesinger and Amy Grinsteinner attended the International Society for Transforming Education's annual conference in Orlando, Fla.
- Laura Leiss and Marisa Riesinger attended the North Dakota Science of Reading Literacy Summit in Bismarck, N.D.
- William Hansard portrayed Theodore Roosevelt in the production of Teddy & Alice. Additionally, he is traveling around the country speaking about Theodore Roosevelt and the Theodore Roosevelt Center (TRC). He will speak in North Creek, New York, about the TRC's digital collection in a presentation titled "From Theodore Roosevelt's Desk to Yours"; at the Truman Library Teacher Conference in Independence, Mo., with a presentation called "Theodore Roosevelt: A Life in Letters"; and finally working with Canticle Studios in Bismarck to produce a documentary about Roosevelt's time in the Badlands.
- CarrieLynn Reinhard and Chris Olson edited a special issue of the Popular Culture Studies Journal.
