Important Dates

The conference will take place on April 20, 2024.

All Abstract Proposals due by noon on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

All posters must be sent for printing by noon on Friday, April 12, 2024. Details to follow. 

Registration (guests not presenters or Faculty Sponsors) planning to attend lunch please register by noon on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Poster Printing

Make sure that the poster is proof read. If errors there are errors, reprinting is at your expense at $5.00/linear ft.


When poster is finished convert your file to a PDF. Email the PDF to wendy.l.wilson@dickinsonstate.edu.

Suggestions/Poster Information:

  • Poster Size:  36” X 48”
  • Main Title:  100 Font
  • Sub-Titles:  48 Font
  • Text:  24 Font, Bold, not Arial
  • Careful with hard to read text on colored backgrounds
  • Print an 11 x 17 color poster to proofread prior to print
    • Print day is not the time to realize half way through printing that there is a missing comma, period, color/background issues or misspelled words. 

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Celebration of Scholars?
Celebration of Scholars is an academic conference held at DSU. Research and original student work across various disciplines is presented to fellow students, faculty members, community members, and professionals.

What sort of work is acceptable?
Acceptable work includes research findings, research literature reviews, scholarly critique, literary papers, musical or dramatic performances, and visual outwork. The work should be original, supported by a faculty member, and fit the definition of cumulative production in your main academic discipline.

Why should I present?
Presenting your original work is an excellent way to demonstrate your learning in a public venue. It looks excellent on your resume and is highly desirable for graduate school applications.

What sort of presentations are possible?
Four presentation modes are possible:

    Oral: oral presentation and discussion (10-12 minutes)

    Poster: poster display and discussion

    Fine Arts Performance: music, drama, dance

    Fine Arts Display: display of any sort of visual art
