Dickinson State University (DSU) proudly announces its 2025 Outstanding Graduates. Selected from each of DSU’s academic schools, these students exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and service. Their achievements will be celebrated at the Outstanding Graduate Ceremony and the Outstanding Graduates for DSU will be named on Friday, May 16, at 2:00 PM MT in the DSU Student Center Ballroom.

 

Emily Beck – School of Business and Entrepreneurship- Master Graduate

A native of Fessenden, North Dakota, Emily Beck is the definition of determination. Coming from a graduating class of just seven, she earned two bachelor’s degrees and two master’s degrees in just four years, all while competing as a student-athlete on the DSU Rodeo Team and working nearly full time. As a Graduate Assistant for the Rodeo Team, Emily mentored younger athletes, coordinated travel, and cultivated a strong, positive team environment. Beyond academics and athletics, she was deeply involved in student life and community activities. After graduation, Emily plans to continue competing in rodeo while launching a professional career that balances her rural values with new opportunities.

 

Lottie Caldwell – School of Education

Originally from North Dakota, Lottie Caldwell’s passion for learning began early—attending college classes with her mother at the age of six. Initially pursuing veterinary science, she later found her true calling in English. At DSU, Lottie consistently earned President’s and Dean’s List honors and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. She contributed to the Lakota American and Benson County Press and pursued photography alongside her studies. After graduation, she plans to pursue a master's degree in English at the University of North Dakota and teach composition to future college students.

 

Jake Daniel – School of Education

Born and raised in Dickinson, North Dakota, Jake Daniel has balanced academics, athletics, and leadership during his time at DSU. A member of the men’s basketball team, he earned a bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education with minors in Leadership Studies and Coaching. Jake also served as Vice President of both the Blue Hawk Catholic organization and the Student Senate. He plans to continue at DSU for a master’s in Educational Leadership while teaching Physical Education at Trinity Catholic Schools. Passionate about coaching and mentoring, Jake looks forward to a future as an educator and leader in his community.

 

Carson Hunter – School of Professional Studies

Carson Hunter, from Miles City, Montana, has made a lasting impact at DSU both on and off the field. A member of the DSU Football Team and the Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program, Carson also served on the DSU Football Player Council. Off-campus, he worked as an activity aide at St. Luke’s Home and interned at Elite PT. A consistent presence on the President’s List, Carson will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Leadership Studies. He looks forward to a career focused on health, wellness, and community leadership.

 

Christina Jorgensen – School of Education- Master Graduate

A Dickinson native, Christina Jorgensen returns to her hometown roots with a wealth of leadership and service experience. After earning bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Religion from Concordia College, she worked extensively in the nonprofit sector, serving as Program Director of Badlands Ministries and Executive Director of the Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce. Currently, she is the Faith Formation Director at St. John Lutheran Church, where she continues her passion for mentoring youth and young adults. Christina’s commitment to community service and education stands as a model for future leaders.

 

Kaitlyn McColly – School of Professional Studies

Kaitlyn McColly’s DSU journey has been marked by excellence in academics, athletics, and service. Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA, Kaitlyn also excelled as a member of the Track and Field team, earning seven All-Academic awards, five All-American honors, and two National Championship titles. She represented the United States at the 2023 FISU World Games in Chengdu, China. After graduation, Kaitlyn will begin her nursing career as a pediatric nurse at Sanford Medical in Bismarck while continuing to exemplify leadership and dedication in her field.

 

Griffin Obrigewitch – School of Applied Sciences

Hailing from Dickinson, North Dakota, Griffin Obrigewitch will graduate with a degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Leadership Studies. An accomplished athlete and student leader, Griffin earned multiple Academic All-American and Champion of Character honors as a cross-country and track athlete. Beyond sports, he served in key leadership roles including Student Ambassador, Student Senate member, and Assistant Director in the Theodore Roosevelt Honors Leadership Program. Griffin now sets his sights on a future career in dentistry, bringing with him a deep commitment to learning, leadership, and service.

 

Brendon Rasmussen – School of Applied Sciences

Born and raised in Bowman, North Dakota, Brendon Rasmussen developed a passion for conservation through his lifelong love of the outdoors. After starting his college career at Southwest Minnesota State University, Brendon transferred to DSU to pursue a degree in Natural Resource Management while competing in track. Today, he coaches young athletes in Bowman County and looks forward to a career focused on protecting wildlife habitats and conserving the natural environment for future generations.

 

X’Avier Vincent – School of Business and Entrepreneurship

Originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, X'Avier Vincent began his studies at Bismarck State College before transferring to DSU to pursue a degree in Business Administration. At DSU, he made an immediate impact through the Future Business Leaders of America, winning top awards in leadership and business competitions. X’Avier is also an accomplished pianist, earning national recognition for nine consecutive years. Looking ahead, he plans to combine his creative and leadership talents to build a successful business career after graduation.

 

Madison Wahl – School of Education

A graduate of Dawson County High School, Madison Wahl has balanced a passion for athletics with a calling to education. Competing in volleyball and track, she achieved All-American status in pole vaulting while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Madison’s dedication to working with children and making a positive impact has guided her academic and professional path. After graduation, she is excited to begin her career as an elementary educator, continuing to inspire young learners through both classroom teaching and mentorship.
