DICKINSON, N.D. — Dickinson State University announced the appointment of Thomas Crady, Ph.D., as interim vice president of enrollment. Crady brings decades of senior-level leadership experience in enrollment management, admissions, financial aid and student affairs at public and private institutions across the nation. 

In his interim role, Crady will provide strategic leadership to support DSU’s enrollment priorities, with a focus on increasing applications, improving student yield and aligning enrollment marketing strategies with the university’s institutional goals. His work will emphasize streamlining services, strengthening communication and highlighting the programs, culture and opportunities that make Dickinson State University unique. 

Crady’s immediate responsibilities include evaluating and accelerating the implementation of DSU’s TargetX customer relationship management system, collaborating with the director of athletics to support student-athlete recruitment, assisting with the recruitment of a permanent enrollment management leader and conducting a comprehensive review of enrollment-related policies, programs, practices and personnel to ensure alignment with national best practices. 

“Dr. Crady brings a wealth of experience and a proven record of stabilizing and strengthening enrollment in complex environments,” said Scott Molander, DSU president. “His data-informed approach, deep understanding of enrollment systems and collaborative leadership style will be instrumental as the university prepares for upcoming recruitment cycles.” 

Crady currently serves as an independent consultant with the Registry for College and University Presidents, where he specializes in interim leadership roles in enrollment management and student affairs. His prior positions include vice president for enrollment management at Gustavus Adolphus College, the University of Montana and Cornell College, as well as senior administrative roles at Dartmouth College and Grinnell College. 

A Higher Learning Commission peer reviewer, Crady also brings experience in accreditation, institutional culture and strategic planning, aligning with DSU’s commitment to continuous improvement and student-centered growth.
