Dickinson State University (DSU) is pleased to announce that Dr. Ayodeji Arogundade has been promoted to the rank of Professor of Business.

Following a comprehensive review process, DSU President Scott Molander formally approved the promotion. The recommendation advanced through School-level review, the institution’s Promotion and Tenure Committee, and the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost, Dr. Holly Gruhlke, with each stage affirming the quality and sustained impact of Dr. Arogundade’s teaching, scholarship, and service.

“Promotion to Professor reflects distinguished performance, continued academic leadership, and meaningful impact within the University community,” President Molander stated in his letter notifying Dr. Arogundade of the decision.

Dr. Holly Gruhlke echoed these sentiments, “Congratulations to Dr. Arogundade on his promotion to Professor of Business. This promotion recognizes his excellent work, and we are proud to have him as a valued member of our academic community.”

Dr. Arogundade currently serves as Dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship and Professor of Business at DSU. Since joining the University in 2024, he has provided strategic leadership to the School, advanced accreditation and assessment initiatives, and contributed to institutional governance through service on the VPAA Council, the Assessment Committee, the Retention Committee, and the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education Research Committee.

An accomplished scholar, Dr. Arogundade’s research spans international higher education, organizational behavior, marketing, and climate-related communication. He is the author of Internationalization of Higher Education in Nigeria: Unintended Positive and Negative Consequences (2023), recognized with the 2024 Best Book Award from the Council on International Higher Education (ASHE-CIHE). His scholarly work includes peer-reviewed publications in business, psychology, and environmental research, as well as numerous national and international conference presentations.

Dr. Arogundade holds a Ph.D. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from the University of Idaho, an MBA from the Federal University of Technology Akure, and completed a Post-Doctoral Bridge Program in Marketing and Management at the University of Florida Hough Graduate School of Business.

Prior to his appointment at DSU, Dr. Arogundade served as Associate Professor of Business and division chair at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, where he led accreditation reaffirmation efforts and contributed extensively to faculty governance and student success initiatives.

Promotion to the rank of Professor represents the highest academic rank at Dickinson State University and recognizes sustained excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and institutional leadership. The University community congratulates Dr. Arogundade on this significant professional milestone.
