About the Program
At Dickinson State University, our nursing programs are designed to meet students where they are and prepare them for where they want to go. Whether you’re exploring nursing for the first time or looking to build on previous experience, DSU offers flexible pathways to support your goals. We offer a fast-track Practical Nursing (PN) Certificate and a comprehensive four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Our curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, professional readiness, and compassionate patient care. No matter which path you choose, DSU is committed to helping you develop into a confident, practice-ready nurse in order to make a meaningful impact in our community.
Please review our new pathway options carefully, it is recommended students who want to earn the registered nurse credentials enroll in the traditional RN program (BSN). Those looking to enter the workforce quickly should enroll in the PN Certificate Program. If you have any questions about which program would be best for you, please reach out!
Students are also able to jumpstart their nursing career with Dickinson State University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This program is designed as a streamline, four-year degree that takes you directly from admission to graduation. Upon graduation, you'll be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN® exam, opening doors to a variety of career paths in hospitals, clinics, and specialized nursing fields.
Applications are open August 1 to October 15
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program prepares students with basic, hands-on patient care in a variety of healthcare settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals, and clinics. DSU will provide students with supplies for their training including stethoscopes, gait belts, and blood pressure cuffs. This one-semester course encompasses didactic, lab, and clinical learning opportunities to best prepare for the certification exam upon completion of the course.
