There is a one-time application fee of $35.

Official Transcripts

Admission to a graduate program at Dickinson State University requires a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or its equivalent from a school in another country. Transcripts can be sent from your school in an officially sealed envelope OR through Parchment, Clearinghouse, or another certified transcript service.

Admission requires a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicants with a GPA below a 3.0 may be admitted based on documented potential.

Applicants must have adequate preparation in the field relevant to the degree being sought and must show potential to undertake advanced study and research as evidenced by academic performance and experience.

Statement of Purpose

All graduate applicants are required to submit a personal statement of purpose.

  • Master of Entrepreneurship applicants must submit a statement of purpose describing their interest in entrepreneurship studies. Applicants will be judged on writing ability as well as statement content.
  • Master of Arts in Teaching applicants must submit a statement of the applicant’s philosophy, including a description of the applicant’s preparation in the field of education.
  • Master of Arts in Teaching - Athletic Educational Leadership applicants must submit a statement of the applicant’s philosophy, including a description of the applicant’s preparation in the field of education.

Letters of Reference (Master of Entrepreneurship Only)

  • Master of Entrepreneurship applicants must submit two letters of reference in support of their admission to the program. References letters should be from prior academic advisors, faculty, professional colleagues, or supervisors who can attest to the individual’s ability to succeed within a rigorous academic environment.

Entrance Exam (Master of Entrepreneurship Only)

  • Master of Entrepreneurship (ME) applicants are required to complete the School of Business and Entrepreneurship ME Peregrine Entrance Examination located at and pay the exam fee of $40. The password to access the entrance exam is DSUND-1001. The registration process will take five minutes, and the remaining exam questions will take approximately an hour.
  • To ensure student success within the Master of Entrepreneurship program, students that do not meet the baseline score in business fundamentals will be required to complete academic leveling courses in the four fundamental content areas of accounting, finance, management, and marketing. Academic leveling courses are abbreviated, intensive study, on average one week in length per course, in the content area, and can be completed feasibly before full admission is granted. The cost of each leveling course is $44. Students can begin taking a leveling course immediately following the completion of the ME Peregrine Entrance Examination.

Step 3 – Speak with an Advisor and Enroll

Your completed application will be forwarded to the department chair for your graduate program. If you are offered admission to the program, you will be notified of your acceptance standing.

  • Full Acceptance
    • Application materials will be reviewed as they are received. A decision for full acceptance/standing may be granted by the department chair when a student has submitted all required documents and meets the admission criteria for this standing.
  • Conditional Acceptance
    • An applicant who does not meet the requirements for full acceptance/standing into a graduate program may be considered for conditional acceptance for a period of time as determined by the chair of the department.
