Dickinson State University (DSU) announced its official enrollment numbers for the spring 2025 semester, reporting an overall enrollment of 1,410 students, up from 1,373 in spring 2024. This marks a 2.69% increase. DSU continues to celebrate the positive trends in its growing enrollment numbers, as well as its exceptional programming and student resources.
"We are excited to witness this growth in both our full-time enrollment and overall enrollment numbers," said Ty Orton, Acting President of Dickinson State University. "This achievement reflects our commitment to supporting DSU's mission of offering diverse academic opportunities and helping students achieve their higher education goal."
Full-time enrollment saw a modest increase of 1.31%, with 853 students compared to

Transfer student enrollment saw a slight dip, with 47 transfer students in spring 2025 compared to 50 in spring 2024. However, graduate student enrollment saw a notable increase, growing from 8 students in spring 2024 to 12 in spring 2025.
First-year enrollment also experienced significant growth, with the headcount rising from 13 to 32. This growth highlights DSU’s commitment to attracting new college students and its ongoing efforts to enhance recruitment and support systems, especially through the development of innovative academic programs.
Additionally, early entry enrollment headcount numbers for the semester showed a promising rise from 273 to 283, reflecting an increase of 3.56%. This early growth is an encouraging indicator of DSU’s continued ability to attract and retain students.
“We are encouraged by the results, and we view this as an opportunity to learn and further enhance our efforts,” said Holly Gruhlke, Vice President of Academic Affairs/Provost. “The university remains dedicated to delivering accessible, quality education, and we continue to see strong interest in many of our programs.”
