DICKINSON, N.D. — Dickinson State University announced the appointment of Stephanie Osborne as interim assistant dean for the School of Business and Entrepreneurship, effective Oct. 1.
Osborne succeeds Amy Kass, who stepped down from the role to focus on strengthening DSU’s accounting program.
“We congratulate Stephanie on her decision to accept this position,” said Dr. Holly Gruhlke, DSU vice president for academic affairs and provost. “Her dedication to our students and her passion for the growth of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship will be instrumental in advancing the school’s goals and supporting its mission.”
According to School of Business and Entrepreneurship Dean Dr. Ayo Arogundade, Osborne is well-suited for the role as the school works toward a 6.5% enrollment increase and an 80% student retention rate in the upcoming academic year. The school also aims to increase the number of graduates by at least 3% annually to help meet workforce needs.
Osborne holds a master’s degree in entrepreneurship and a Master of Business Administration. She plans to pursue a Doctor of Business Administration beginning in May 2026.
A DSU alumna, Osborne began her career at the university in January 2016 as an admissions recruiter and later advanced to director of admissions. In 2023, she transitioned to the School of Business and Entrepreneurship as an assistant professor of business.
Since joining the school, Osborne has taught a variety of management and administration courses and has received strong student feedback. She serves on several committees, including the assessment committee, retention committee and Faculty Senate, and participates in recruitment initiatives such as high school visits and Discover DSU Day.
Osborne will work closely with Arogundade to advance the school’s mission and support its strategic goals.
“Serving as interim assistant dean has been a meaningful opportunity and responsibility,” Osborne said. “I’ve enjoyed working closely with our faculty and students, and I look forward to continuing to support the growth of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship.”
