Dickinson State University (DSU) Merit Pages is a beneficial tool for students to celebrate all their accomplishments, clubs, activities while at DSU and prepares them to be successful for life after college. Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost Dr. Holly Gruhlke believes Merit Pages is helpful in several ways. "Merit Pages is a dynamic platform that celebrates student achievements and provides a great way for Dickinson State University students to share their success stories. By showcasing academic accomplishments, extracurricular involvement, and professional milestones,” Gruhlke said.
Students can customize their Merit profiles to include their name, major, minor, class year, hometown, social media accounts, and more. Students can also add other affiliations such as organizations like honor societies to their page that can be beneficial for a future employer to see as well as previous colleges or high schools attended.
Merit also recognizes achievements students have received while at DSU such as making
the President’s List or the Dean’s List. Another achievement that students can earn
is the Excellence in Communication which demonstrates a high level of achievement
in communication courses at DSU. Students earn the Excellence in Communication by
getting an A or B in each College Composition I (ENGL 110) and College Composition
II (ENGL 120) as well as an A or B in Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).
Merit allows students to upload special projects that could be valuable to potential
employers. In addition, students can upload a resume on their Merit page to showcase
their experience and help get traction for employers looking to hire students as they
finish up their college degree.
