Dickinson State University (DSU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tyson Springer as Interim Director of Admissions. Springer brings more than 15 years of higher education experience, combining leadership, recruiting, and student engagement skills that align strongly with the mission of DSU’s Office of Admissions.

Springer has served DSU in multiple capacities, most recently as Head Women’s Wrestling Coach, where he successfully built relationships across campus and the community while leading a growing athletic program. His previous roles include serving as Enrollment Counselor at Dickinson State University, as well as leadership positions at Ellsworth Community College, Hastings College, and Doane University. Throughout his career, Springer has demonstrated a strong ability to recruit, mentor, and connect with diverse student populations, skills that translate seamlessly to his new role overseeing recruitment and enrollment initiatives at DSU.

“I’m honored to serve as Interim Director of Admissions and to continue building on DSU’s tradition of personal attention and community connection,” said Springer. “My vision is to help more students discover the opportunities that await them at Dickinson State and to ensure every prospective student feels welcomed and supported throughout their journey.”

DSU President Scott Molander expressed confidence in Springer’s appointment, stating, “Tyson’s leadership experience, energy, and dedication to student success make him an excellent choice for this role. His understanding of both the academic and co-curricular sides of higher education positions him well to advance DSU’s recruitment goals.”

Former Admissions Director and current business faculty member Stephanie Osborne will assist in providing transitional support and training to ensure continuity of operations during this leadership change.
