DICKINSON, N.D. — Dickinson State University has named Julie Obrigewitsch managing consultant for the Office of Marketing & Communications.
Obrigewitsch brings more than 18 years of experience in marketing, communications, tourism and digital strategy to the role. She is the owner of Impact Marketing & Consulting and has extensive experience in website development, digital advertising, branding, media relations, analytics, social media strategy and public relations.
A Dickinson State University graduate, Obrigewitsch earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing in 2007. Throughout her career, she has worked with businesses, nonprofits, public organizations and political campaigns across North Dakota to strengthen brand presence, improve audience engagement and develop strategic marketing and communications initiatives.
Prior to launching Impact Marketing & Consulting in 2024, Obrigewitsch spent nearly 14 years with the Dickinson Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she promoted tourism and helped bring state, regional and national meetings and conventions to Dickinson. She led destination marketing efforts, managed digital advertising campaigns and helped promote Dickinson and western North Dakota regionally and nationally. In addition, she has presented at conferences and events across the state and region on topics related to digital marketing, online visibility and audience engagement.
Obrigewitsch received the 2020 Telegraph Award for Marketing Technology through the North Dakota Governor’s Travel & Tourism Awards. She is also the founder and organizer of the Stark County Spirit of Excellence Award, a community recognition program created to honor individuals making a positive impact across Stark County.
“Julie brings a strong combination of creativity, experience and community connection to Dickinson State,” said DSU President Scott Molander. “Her background in marketing, communications and strategic outreach will be a tremendous asset as we continue sharing the DSU story and strengthening engagement with students, alumni and communities across the region.”
In her role as managing consultant for the Office of Marketing & Communications, Obrigewitsch will support strategic communications, marketing initiatives, storytelling, digital content creation, student recruitment efforts and regional outreach for the university.

Obrigewitsch has been recognized for her work in marketing and community engagement, including being featured in the North Dakota Small Business Development Center’s 2026 Success Stories. She also remains actively involved in several local organizations and community initiatives in the Dickinson area.
