The Dickinson State Rodeo teams are set to host the annual Blue Hawk Stampede this weekend at the Stark County Fairgrounds in Dickinson, N.D. The two-day event marks the only home event for the Blue Hawks.

“We are excited to welcome the Great Plains Region to Dickinson for our annual Blue Hawk Stampede,” stated Eudell Larson, head rodeo coach. ““We hope to see you at the Stark County Fairgrounds this weekend as our teams and dedicated group of sponsors work hard to put on a fun and entertaining performance and event for everyone!”

  • 6 p.m. – Performance
• Saturday, September 30
  • 9 a.m. – Slack
  • 1 p.m. – Performance
  • 6 p.m. – Short Go

The Blue Hawk Stampede brings in teams from the Great Plains Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). After four rodeos, the Blue Hawks sit in 6th place (601.00 points) on the men’s side, while the women sit in 3rd place overall (978.00 points). Individually, there are nine Blue Hawks sitting in the top 10 in their respected events:

 

Admission at the door is $10 for adults and $5 for students. DSU staff, faculty and students get in for free with DSU ID.
