Chloe Gunderson, a native of Powers Lake, North Dakota, began her studies at Dickinson State University (DSU) in January 2024 after earning her undergraduate degrees at Minot State University. She competes on the track and field team as a thrower, serves as association executive for the Badlands Board of REALTORS®, and works as a graduate assistant at the DSU Heritage Foundation. Outside her busy schedule, Gunderson enjoys spending time with friends and playing guitar.
Currently in her final semester of dual master’s programs in business administration and entrepreneurship, Gunderson said her passion for business began early through her involvement in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) during middle school and high school. “I chose to continue my education beyond my undergraduate studies because I value learning and saw it as an investment in my future success,” she said.
Gunderson has distinguished herself in both athletics and leadership. As a thrower on the track and field team, she has earned three all conference finishes, qualified for the national meet four times, and recorded two top 10 national finishes. She also served as the North Dakota FBLA Collegiate state president from 2024 to 2025. “Track and FBLA have been cornerstones of my academic and personal journey, shaping the way I approach challenges and growth,” Gunderson said. “They have instilled in me the value of dedication, resilience in the face of setbacks, and the importance of always striving to present the best version of myself.”
Mentorship has played a key role in her journey. “My throws coach, Tanner Gust, and my family at the DSU Heritage Foundation have had the greatest influence on me,” she said. “Their guidance and belief in my potential have been instrumental in shaping who I am today.”
Through her graduate programs, Gunderson is gaining the tools and confidence to navigate the modern business world. After graduation, she plans to continue gaining professional experience while preparing for law school, with the goal of making a meaningful impact in any professional setting.
