What does being a Blue Hawk mean to you?
Being a Dickinson State Blue Hawk means a lot to me for several reasons. First and foremost, the community here is incredibly kind and welcoming. When you wear the blue and grey, you are instantly embraced as part of a family that supports one another. It's a unique feeling to be part of a community where everyone, regardless of their background, can find their niche. People connect through various sports, clubs, classes, and campus events, creating rich relationships that will last a lifetime. Ultimately, being a Blue Hawk embodies a commitment to growth, community, and support. It’s about taking pride in our shared identity and working together to create an enriching environment that prepares us for the future. This is why I feel fortunate to call myself a Blue Hawk—I am part of something bigger, and I know my time here is shaping who I will become.
What's your favorite memory of DSU?
My favorite memory at DSU would have to be when I got in on the kickoff team in a blowout victory against Mayville. While I didn’t play a lot of snaps, I know that younger Parker would’ve been the happiest kid in the world seeing us on a college football field, so it is definitely a memory I hold dear to my heart.
Who is someone that has inspired you?
My parents inspire me every day. My father is an educator, and he inspires me to be a good person to always give your best. I see this in his actions time and time again and I hope to be like him one day. My mother inspires me to see the good in people and to always keep an optimistic outlook. Without her guidance, I would surely be a much more pessimistic person.
